One of the region’s largest municipalities, the Village of Wellington is an ideal community to live, work and play in south Florida. Most notably recognized as the international hub for winter equestrian activities, there are endless residential developments, outdoor attractions, and shopping and dining destinations to suit any preference. The Village of Wellington’s Town Center, which includes its municipal complex and emergency operations center, underwent recent improvements to enhance the property along picturesque Lake Wellington, serving as a beautiful backdrop for community gatherings throughout the year.

To bring the Village’s vision to reality, Simmons & White was retained directly by the Village as their continuing contract engineer to master plan, design, permit and oversee the construction and conversion of over 1,000 feet of grassed lake slopes into a 20- to 30-foot-wide paver boardwalk with segmented block wall. This enhanced the accessibility to the lakefront, while tying it into the existing Community Center patio.  

We provided comprehensive bid documents, site plans, conceptual master plans, drainage studies and plans, design development plans, utility relocation and design, fill calculations, record drawings, shop drawing review, full construction plans, and services during construction such as permitting, observation, oversight, documentation, and project closeout. 

Simmons & White also coordinated and managed the project subcontractors, including the Structural Engineer, Surveyor, Geotechnical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, and Dock & Marine Engineer, while working closely with the Village of Wellington Administration and Staff.
